Marshal Keen

Director

With over 20 years in the industry, Marshal Keen is a skilled builder and carpenter with a great sense of design and a sharp eye for detail. Growing up as the son of a builder, he started his career on the Gold Coast, completing his carpentry apprenticeship and earning his building license. After climbing the ranks at Queensland’s top residential construction companies, gaining project management experience, he decided to go solo.

A change of pace brought him to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, where he established Built by MK.

Marshal focuses on bespoke commercial and residential projects, blending his expertise with a genuine passion for creating beautifully crafted spaces.

  • OPERATIONS MANAGER

    With a background in Design and Arts from the prestigious College of Fine Arts, Ahlia brings a unique blend of creativity, structure, and vision to her role as our Operations Manager. Before joining the Building industry, she honed her organisational skills as an Executive Assistant in the fast-paced entertainment industry—where timing, attention to detail, and clear communication were non-negotiable.

    Ahlia is the quiet force behind the scenes who keeps everything running smoothly—from managing timelines and coordinating trades, to ensuring client communications are seamless and every project milestone is met with precision. 

    Clients and team members rely on Ahlia not only for her calm under pressure, but for her genuine care and commitment to every build.

  • OPERATIONS

    With over 13 years of experience in the interior design industry, Samantha brings a strong background of interior styling and decoration, where she initially studied at Enmore Design. Since joining the Built by MK team, she has become an integral part of our operations, combining her creative expertise with a sharp eye for detail and coordination. Samantha thrives in a collaborative environment and very passionate about interiors, bespoke and innovative spaces. Samantha works hand in hand with Marshal and Ahlia to manage daily operations, client communications, and project coordination.

  • CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

    With over five years at Built by MK, Jake brings a strong foundation in carpentry and a Master’s degree in Project Management to his role as Construction Manager. His hands-on experience and technical expertise make him a vital link between design and delivery, coordinating closely with architects, engineers, and site teams to resolve design and structural details with accuracy.

    Jake manages the daily operations across our projects—including budgets, cost tracking, and client variations, while overseeing on-site works to ensure quality, safety, and timelines are met. 

    Known for his clear communication and collaborative approach, he’s passionate about residential construction and takes pride in delivering well-crafted and high-quality outcomes that exceed expectations.
